DCOA stands for Disassembly, Clean, Oil (lubricate) and Assembly. Every gun that comes into the shop
DCOA (except maybe brand new guns for scopes and trigger jobs) gets a full. That means the gun is
disassembled down to just parts, detent balls, springs, and pins. While doing a DCOA, I can determine
the condition of the gun and what its problems may be. Included in these type inspections are head
spacing, loading, feeding, chambering, firing, extraction and ejection. The magazines of these guns must
properly allow the next round to slide rearward in the tube. The safety of the gun is paramount. The gun
must be safe before I return it to you.

Any metalwork such as milling and lathe work will probably require the gun to be re-blued if it is not
stainless. Sights can be either iron or scope and there are several variations of each. If you require a
new barrel, it must be head spaced and the bolt should be lapped for solid lock-up. Trigger work can
be either trigger adjustment for better pull and over travel or it can be installation of a new trigger.
Stock work can be adjusting the pitch of the butt from heel to toe, installation of a new butt stock recoil
pads, refinishing the wood work, Checker or re-cutting checkering or reducing or adding to the length of
pull. Stock work can also include glass bedding, pillar bedding installation, and refinish wood stocks to
include repair of cracks, broken out chips and raiding dents in wood. Both wooden and synthetic stocks
are made to fit in the action with maximum accuracy maintained.

Re-barreling, re-chambering, action tuning and action and barrel fit to stock are all done with you the
shooter's needs. The barrel can also be cut and recrowned. I can drill and tap holes for the installation
of scope mounts, cut dovetails for dove tail sights and install high quality, close tolerance extractors,
bolts and spring and pin set sets for improved performance. AND of course, detailed cleaning plus
polishing of needed parts and test firing is always done before the gun is returned to you.
